Minister President Michael Kretschmer visits production of our subsidiary Blackstone Technology in Döbeln

Saxony’s Minister President Michael Kretschmer (CDU) was, in his own words, “very impressed” by our innovative battery technology. During a visit to Blackstone Technology in Döbeln (a wholly owned subsidiary of Blackstone Resources AG), he took a look at our 3D screen printing facility. The Minister President emphasized Blackstone’s progressive contribution to the energy transition and to Saxony as a business location.

During his visit on 13 April 2022, we were also able to present our commitment to the recycling of batteries and battery materials to Mr Kretschmer. The interested visitor also took a look at the 3D printing of the first cathodes and anodes manufactured on site.

In the words of Mr Michael Kretschmer: “To protect the environment and our livelihoods, smart action, new ways and innovations are needed. One example of the creativity and innovative power here in Saxony is the commitment of Blackstone Resources. The company is not only an attractive employer in the region. The innovative battery cells manufactured here can also make an important contribution to climate-friendly mobility. This company thus stands for the great competences and know-how available in the Free State of Saxony in the field of tomorrow’s mobility.”

In Döbeln, Blackstone Technology manufactures high-tech battery cells with significantly higher energy density and the greatest shape flexibility. We use a water-based manufacturing process without toxic organic solvents. As a result, it produces less waste and sustainably reduces energy consumption in production. Electromobility as well as stationary systems can therefore benefit significantly from our battery technologies. In addition, we have started the construction of a pilot plant for the production of 3D printed solid-state cells based on sodium.

We are pleased to have welcomed the Minister President and have compiled all the exciting impressions in the video.
